Why I do what I do

I have always had a huge respect for my mother, who started her own business from scratch in her 40’s, after the marriage break down of my parents. She wanted to be financially independent and educate other people to do the same. 20 years ago, I was given the opportunity to work in her business. I had no prior knowledge of the financial world, or any qualifications, and my journey began from the grass roots level learning on the job.

I have always been a problem solver and quickly found myself involved in the advice process, in addition to my administration tasks. I found the strategy development, modelling and reverse engineering of desired outcomes for clients, fascinating. Witnessing the implementation of these strategies that enabled clients to achieve their objectives inspired me. I have been blessed to be mentored by my mother, and continue to be a perpetual student of life. I love being able to support clients through their financial planning journey and it gives me great joy to see them achieve their goals, and to walk beside them through the different stages this entails, both positive and challenging.

A few things about me:

Outside of the office you will find me with my animals, in the garden, or out walking. I love nature, which includes the fruits it bears, taking me into the kitchen where I love to experiment with new recipes, yoghurt and cheese making and all things culinary. This extends into travel, where I love to immerse myself in local culture, food and wine, and to explore new places and ideas. Art has always been of great interest, both to enjoy and develop my own skills, where I enjoy drawing and sculpting among other creative pursuits.

My passion for horses has been a life long journey, and I participate in medieval skill at arms, where you will see me enjoy weapons training on horseback, archery being my favourite. Horses for me, invoke a spiritual connection that pushes you to be a better person constantly, and this thread weaves itself through all aspects of my life.

Being close to my family, friends, and all things living are incredibly important to me. It is this web of life that connects us all and makes us who we are.
